• A Picture is Worth a Million Numbers: The art and science of data visualization [ talk ]

  Visualization is used in data analytics to develop and convey insights about the data, discover trends and patterns in it, and interpret models and decisions, etc. In this talk we will demonstrate how visualization can be used to understand global structures, highlight local trends, interpret predictive models, and make better decisions in a variety of domains. We will dig deep into two specific applications of visualization of:

  • - credit customers in a "financial score space" using multidimensional scaling and
  • - large text corpora in a "semantic concept space" using self-organizing map.
